Kindsight’s debut single is a delightfully hazy indie flashback to the alternative ’90s. “Who Are You?”, released just last month, gives off a striking first impression of one of Denmark’s latest indie bands.

The group, a humble quartet from Copenhagen, show off their creative and nostalgic sound on this track with a mix of distorted guitars, beautiful vocal work, and catchy indie pop melodies.

It’s hard not to perk up even from the track’s first few guitar notes, already filling the listener with a pleasant sense of familiarity.

The noisy, shoegaze sound of the guitars along with lead singer Nina Hyldgaard Rasmussen’s sunny voice evokes a bit of the ’80s and ’90s dream pop scene. Embracing the poppier sides of The Sundays, Lush, and The Sugarcubes, Kindsight’s fun sound only draws more attention to their infectious melodies.

The song’s bridge features a quiet buildup as Rasmussen belts some impressive vocal phrases, proving to be both engaging and momentarily emotional. “Who Are You?” features a wide spectrum of musical styles and colors that fit together perfectly, creating a vibrant energy that lingers long after the last note.
