Midnight Zephyr float through genres with debut EP Tonight

From the heart of Sydney's vibrant music scene, Midnight Zephyr have unleashed their debut EP, Tonight. A potent blend of punk vigor and alt-rock melody, this four-track collection hits dynamic highs and emotional lows through existential and emotional themes and lyrics.

The opening track, "This Is Where We End", immediately ramps up the urgency and intensity. It bursts open with a high-energy vamp and shredding guitar and doesn't let up until the final notes fade. Packed with deep-cutting lyrics like "everybody expects perfection," Midnight Zephyr open with this declaration of independence from expectations.

"Tonight", the second track and previously released single, shifts gears with a groovy drum beat and a funky bass line injecting a playful tone after the rollercoaster of an opener.

"One Step (At A Time)" further exemplifies the band's ability to blend genres. It's a pop-punk track that carries an infectious, upbeat energy. Self-deprecating lyrics twist the negativity in the best punk way possible. Lyrics like "Let's lose our mind one step at a time" and "Every day you got me feeling higher / Even though we're falling under" punch through and carry you on.

Tonight closes with an emotional note. "Even though you see right through me, I stick to the same old story. The difference between us is what I make it out to be."

Across the EP, Midnight Zephyr sprinkle their influences into a 5-star recipe bursting with creativity. Muse harmonies, Red Hot Chilly Peppers stylings, and pop personalities like Dua Lipa and DNCE blend into something completely new that keeps bringing you back for a second listen.
