AECH release hometown-inspired new single "Highlands"

AECH (pronounced as "H"), the up-and-coming Filipino country-infused rock band, have unveiled their latest single, "Highlands", a heartfelt tribute to their roots in Antipolo City. Released on April 4, the track celebrates the band's deep connection to their hometown, blending elements of hope, courage, and nostalgia with a distinctly country flavor. This release follows the group's debut EP The Afternoon (2024), further establishing AECH as one of the freshest sounds in the Filipino music scene.

The band formed in the summer of 2023 and has since been gaining momentum with their live performances and media features, including a guest appearance on the iconic Wish 107.5 Bus last year. Their latest release comes after a series of successful gigs. "Highlands" stands out as a love letter to Antipolo, incorporating local imagery, such as the "City of the Tree," and references to the beautiful landscapes surrounding the area.

The song's lyrics evoke a sense of belonging, with vivid lines like, "From the highest mountains to the falling falls," offering listeners a glimpse into the serene environment of Antipolo. The track's anthemic chorus, "Living in the Highlands, where the music plays," highlights AECH's being true to their origins.

In a special hometown show held on April 5 at How ű Brewin' Music Cafe, AECH were joined by indie acts including Azul, Jerry Something, Audiovault, Yes Friday, GRIDN, and Race to Valhalla to launch the single. The intimate gathering reflected the band's growing influence and their deep ties to the local music scene.
