Duaw Davao to kick off with Yano, Popong Landero, Kuntaw Mindanao, more on World Music Day

It's official. Duaw Davao, which was announced early in May, is launching on June 21 (Friday), at Rizal Park featuring a lineup consisting of the city's homegrown musical acts. The musical leg of the new festival notably coincides with the celebration of World Music Day, otherwise known as Fête de la Musique.

Davao icons Yano, Popong Landero, Kuntaw Mindanao, are among the artists expected to perform at the event, which is just one of so many activities slated for the week-long tourism-centered fest. PhilPop 2018 "Nanay, Tatay" singer-songwriter Chud Festejo and MinPop 2020 grand winner Mau Ria are also joining the musical showcase together with other exciting indie acts Cerise, Tortang Talong, Maric Gavino, Precal Dropouts, Kael Bhyadogg, Guava, Rooftop Jam Sessions, Bud Vibes, Big Mac, and Das.

To be held from June 21 to June 30, Duaw Davao is aimed at bringing to the fore Davao Tourism, the Feast of San Pedro, Pride Month, and Lifestyle and Leisure, making it a new highlight in the city's annual calendar.

Meanwhile, leading local music promoter Holodeck Productions has called for fans to come together for the festivity in support of the music scene in Davao. The same team is behind the city's counterpart of Fête de la Musique.
