Luna Blue hailed June 2020 UNXIGNED Artist of the Month

The Brighton-based clique has been named the June 2020 UNXIGNED Artist of the Month after incontestably topping the recently ended monthly poll. Garnering 77 out of the 190 total votes cast, Luna Blue fans comprised 41% of the total number of voters. The alt-pop band’s numbers on the second day of voting rose like mad, remaining that way until the poll closed.

Nine artists debuted on UNXIGNED in June. As a ritual, all artists who get featured through the UNXIGNED Highlights reel are automatically considered nominees for Artist of the Month. The Luna Blue highlights article was published June 23, five days before the poll was officially opened to the public. It was the first time the Artist of the Month poll was held on the blog. In May, the voting was conducted via Facebook.

Despite directing their fans to the poll only on the second day of voting (June 29; poll ran June 28–30), the up-and-coming band’s numbers remarkably soared before the 30th. Luna Blue quickly went to the top, successfully replacing folk-pop band In the forest and made the position its stronghold, thanks to the combined efforts of their loyal fans.

The four-piece is composed of lead singer and guitarist Tom High, lead guitarist Ryan Wellman, bassist Nick Davie, and drummer Seb Bowen. The “Away With You” pop stars have been gaining acclaim for their hooky summery sound that features dancy, upbeat-imbued grooves. With High’s decorous voice blending tastefully with the ensemble’s instrumentation, there is no doubt why Luna Blue is becoming such a sensation these days.
