The Voice Philippines season 2 grand finalist Kokoi Baldo died on Friday, December 8, after he was run over by a truck at the Circumferential Road, Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City. He was 44. The death of the singer was confirmed by his wife through a Facebook post.
According to a SunStar news report, Baldo was about to overtake the truck driven by Benny Flor when the Juan Gapang frontman slid on the right side of the road, causing him to be thrown in the direction of the heavy vehicle. Major Armilyn Vargas of Police Station 3 reported that the reggae artist was not wearing his helmet while driving. Flor is currently under the station’s custody.
Meanwhile, public viewings have been announced for Kokoi’s friends and fans.
