Five Minutes Later, a Dumaguete-based post-grunge, alternative rock band, has been named the May 2020 UNXIGNED Artist of the Month.

Garnering a total of 144 votes from fans in the recently ended Artist of the Month campaign on Facebook, Fifteen Minutes Later (sometimes referred to as simply FML) won the popular vote among the twelve indie nominees featured by UNXIGNED in May.

Originally a four-piece until their bassist Oswald Singson (Igoroots) unexpectedly died only a week after their new single “Dim Light” came out, the project band is now only composed of vocalist and lead songwriter Joannes Jumadla, Mark Ruiz (CoolRevive), and Kerwin Elman (ODD). The three remaining members, who mourned Singson’s sudden demise not long ago, have somehow come to terms with their loss and are now regaining their verve.

While they are not likely to recover from what must have been the lowest point in their career just yet, FML’s observable strong bond is a testament to their unified goal to make music and inspire whoever needs it.

They have been releasing music officially as Fifteen Minutes Later since 2018 and have remarkably grown a cult following across Dumaguete and Cebu that led to them appearing as guests on radio stations to and fro. Now that almost every part of the world is on lockdown, the guys are nevertheless actively engaging with their fans online, keeping intact their fan base and gaining new listeners.
