Relive growing up in the 21st Century with The Trusted’s “Millennium”

Embrace the noise of growing up with the latest single by The Trusted.

If you’re reading this article, there’s a high chance that you’ve grown up in or at least lived long enough to witness the 21st century. A generation full of art, expression, and crazy stuff that owes itself to one thing: technology.

UK-based indie rock band The Trusted with their new song “Millennium” take you through what this time period has to offer for those born in it. Full of synth and electronic elements, you can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia with their modern yet retro style.

“Millennium” is a humble project that involves some big names in the industry, such as the production by Rees Broomfield of SS2 Studios and mixed by none other than Grammy-nominated sound engineer Andy Bradfield.

Having started the band while they were in secondary school, The Trusted found solace in atmospheric pop and retro music icons that eventually heavily influenced who they are now. Because of this, the theme and overall soundscape of their latest release have a quality that just ensnares whoever listens to it with its familiar yet contemporary aspects.

This song can fit so many moments in your life: it could be the song your older siblings would play, locked away in their rooms. It could be the music in your friend’s car as you drive down to the beach while you’re in your teens. Or, it could be that really nice song you discovered that you’ll gatekeep from everyone because you’re so cool.

Honestly, the song is just pure, unbridled youth. A youth so strong that it can even carry over to the next “Millennium”.
