Always Grounded's "Midnight Drive" is a cathartic ride through heartbreak

Pop-punk band Always Grounded have unveiled "Midnight Drive", the final single from their highly anticipated self-titled EP, dropping February 14. Known for their emotionally charged sound and dynamic blend of nostalgia and modernity, Always Grounded deliver a raw, heartfelt banger with this latest release.

"Midnight Drive" encapsulates the highs and lows of a turbulent relationship. The song opens with the quiet intimacy of a drive down I-95, capturing the intensity of a relationship on the edge. It introduces listeners to emotional conflict, with the protagonist's pleas to hold on to love contrasted with the gut-wrenching realization of inevitable heartbreak. "You slammed my heart in the door," RJ Dionne sings.

The chorus, "She kissed me by the fountain / My heart broke one last time," is a mournful yet defiant reflection on enduring pain. But amidst the heartbreak, there is also resolve—"These cuts will heal just fine," we're reminded.
