Tony Goff & The Broken Colours initially formed after frontman Tony Goff won London’s BEONTHESCENE contest in 2013. The band, whose lineup has changed over the years and now features Goff, guitarist Connor Myers, bassist Tom Paley, and drummer Ashley Saunders, is best known for its slick, engaging guitar-based anthems.
It’s of no moment to ask why the boys are racking up attention from every corner of the industry. They have toured across the UK and Europe, supporting the likes of Frank Turner, Deaf Havana, Feeder, and Wheatus. Back in 2017, their eponymous EP peaked at no. 66 on the Top Alternative Albums on iTunes. Tony Goff & The Broken Colours are that massive, and they continue to live up to their portrait.

They’re just so difficult to resist, besides the fact that their sound rings bells with scrupulous indie rock devotees. Powered by their rock roots bestrewed with a dose of classic alternative lush, Tony Goff & The Broken Colours deliver an orderly reinvention of contemporary rock dicta.
The Buckinghamshire-based four-piece returned in June with a rhythmic, riff-dredged offering called “Rearrange”, a funky three-minute banger Goff wrote about his pursuit of motivation. “Sometimes you need to ‘Rearrange’ and that’s what I’ve done,” he says of the track. “When you find yourself in a dark place for whatever reason … you need to find the light. So I wrote this song to motivate me and others,” he adds. “To give us the strength to not give up and chase our dreams no matter what.”

Written before the pandemic happened, the song’s theme was not at all about the virus, but Goff admittedly acknowledges its unanticipated relevance to the crisis. “I wrote this pre-pandemic, but it makes more sense [now] than ever. For many of us are forced to ‘Rearrange’,” he reflects.
Tony Goff & The Broken Colours planned of releasing “Rearrange” themselves at first but ultimately released the single via Bentley Records. “We were going to self-release this but ended up signing a deal with award-wining Bentley Records based in New York,” he admits. “This will be our first release with them.”

Like all of the clique’s previous songs, this latest number perfectly captures that Tony Goff & The Broken Colours tastefully hooky blues rock motif, the very style that has their fans dying for them since day one. The We Are Phonik alumni on “Rearrange” take an almost unnoticed step back from its predecessor’s (“False Delight”) contentious shift-to-pop attempt, impeccably refortifying their solid, unadulterated sound identity.
“Rearrange” was recorded in January 2020 with Antonio Hannah at Free Fall Studios. It was mixed by Paul Frost and mastered at Sonomax.
