Are you a sucker for alt-pop? If yes then welcome. Meet Luna Blue.
After playing a series of sold-out shows in 2019, this Brighton-based band has resolutely worked its way to becoming one of UK’s hottest indie cliques. Having supported class acts like Declan McKenna and Glass Caves, to name a few, Luna Blue are certainly a must-catch. Swear, their buoyant, dancy lit tunes sound insatiably vibrant—without at all being overdone.
Fronted by singer and guitarist Tom High, Luna Blue’s powerful lineup also features guitarist Ryan Wellman, drummer Seb Bowen, and bassist Nick Davie. The friends graduated from the University of Chichester in 2017 and have since played live sets for BBC Kent and BBC Introducing the South. Following the release of their debut single “Tropical” last year, the quartet has seen a remarkable growth in their fan base, successfully landing them a special spot in the indie scene.
Before the global pandemic went out of hand, Luna Blue had been working closely with producer Matthew Parisi for what they described as “exciting new projects” for 2020. Their plans, which included a debut headline UK tour in August and hitting major cities and towns in the south, unfortunately got cancelled due to the present crisis. Luna Blue nevertheless managed to keep the music going and their fans engaged via the Internet.
Over the last couple of months, the four-piece has been especially active on their socials, uploading home performances for fans to watch and jam along, showcasing their often hilarious, easygoing brotherhood. It is also worth stating that the boys raised funds alongside fellow indie acts for the #SaveOurVenues campaign and participated in several other charity-backed virtual fests.

Luna Blue’s contagious sound infuses a sunnier, straight-up blend of catchy pop with some Foals, The 1975, and Two Door Cinema Club backdrop. They also have that hooky Bad Suns aftertaste in their works. These guys’ overall groovy and rhythmic song formula morphs their varied influences into a wholly new aesthetic that is Luna Blue.
The band recently released their second of four alt-pop dance tracks for summer 2020, “Away With You”, which was picked as Track of the Day by BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Surrey’s Drivetime show on May 18, 2020. Well, they’re Luna Blue. What do you expect?
