Stockholm-based indie rock band Little Stream, comprising Anna Svensson Rova, Ida Elin Tannerdal, Johan Johansson, and Jussi Kalla, recently released their third single, "You & Me", on July 26, 2024. With roots in Swedish mining towns north of the Arctic Circle, the quartet draws inspiration from singer-songwriters like Phoebe Bridgers and Ray Lamontagne, as well as bands like Big Thief and Bon Iver, infusing their music with a romantic blend of indie rock and Americana.
Formed during the pandemic in a Stockholm studio collective, the band's music has a touch of '90s nostalgia. Their lyrics poignantly reflect on the past, addressing the longing for physical spaces tied to childhood memories, often referencing the transformed or vanished communities impacted by expanding mines.
Their new single, "You & Me," is an atmospheric indie ballad featuring tender vocals, piano, electric guitar, bass, and drums. The song explores themes of unity and introspection, expressed through evocative lyrics that ponder empathy and connection within the vastness of the sea. "In the vastness of the sea / I am you and you are me / Who are we to believe?" it opens, icy-cold, gripping. The repeated imagery of the vast sea serves as a metaphor for the infinite possibilities of human relationships and the often unspoken bond that can exist between people.
Little Stream's formation began with friends Anna, Jussi, and Elin, with guitarist Johan joining soon after. Initially focused on writing and recording demos, the band recorded their first album in their own Studio Lur in the fall of 2023. According to them, the band's name comes from northern Sweden's rivers and creeks, echoing their musical and geographic heritage.

He is a Juris Doctor who leads an excitingly boring life in the confines of his room juggling studies with passion and dreams. He is terrible at finding balance but gets by anyhow. He wants you to follow his artist pages and channels for when he decides to up his game. Pretty open for collabs and will mix your would-be hit song for cheap.
