Announcing last month that their self-titled third album will be coming in November, Brooklyn-based indie four-piece Hypoluxo’s latest single shows promise for their energetic new material.

Having made music since their teen years, Hypoluxo’s first foray into the music industry was fraught with poor treatment at the hands of their first record deal. Frustrated and jaded, the band was on the verge of falling apart.

But through persistence and an undying passion for making meaningful music, Hypoluxo, now newly signed with Terrible Records and liberated to make the album they want, have created their most significant material yet.

Their third LP sounds as if the band is awakening an energy that’s been lying dormant for years. It explodes with passion, tapping into their frustration with an exploitative music industry and the anxiety of young adult life.

“Shock”, the latest single from the upcoming record, drips in nervous energy as ferocious drums complement angular guitar riffs and wailing vocals by frontman Samuel Cogan.

With the release of each new single, Hypoluxo’s self-titled full-length is shaping to be an endearing, reflective, and untamed piece of indie post-punk.
