Siteng-Violent Divinity

Seamlessly blending art pop and electronica, Siteng's EP Violent Divinity sculpts a sanctuary from the spiritual and the personal. The EP's narrative arc flutters from the serenity of unity to the jagged edges of a soul confined.

"Water and Water", a particularly cinematic blurring of freedom and constriction, begins with bubbling glitches floating over eastern instrumentation and synths. Siteng's ghostly vocals glide like mist, forming her thoughts on finding real connection. It's a hymn to the confluence of spirits, a celebration of the ethereal and the physical.

Conversely, "Broken (Home Is My Prison)" is the counterpoint, a narrative of captivity within the walls of should-be sanctuary. Its opening, reminiscent of shattered tranquility, lingers only long enough to transition into aggression. The glitchy chorus and relentless backing vocals march lockstep with the beat, driving the song forward and through the broken glass sonic texture.

All five tracks on Violent Divinity are an immersive exhibition of self, exploring raw emotion and experience. It's fitting that an immersive exhibition inspired by the EP will grace 196 New North Road, London from March 9 to March 13.
